(and the pic is a different question)

and for the very last pic there is a passage to go with it so here it is!

10. a study was done to investigate the use of text messaging over time. the table shows the relationship between the number of years after 2005 and the number of text messages an average person sent monthly.

    Explanation:

    Father

    Charles

    Goes

    Down

    And

    Ends

    The operations done first are:

    a)  42 (17 – 15) / (3 + 1) – 5 ; (17 -15) or (3 + 1) (parenthesis) are done first

    b)  42 (17 – 15) / (3 + 1) – 5 ; 7 × 2 (multiplication) is done first

    Step-by-step explanation:

    from the mnemonic PEDMAS, the order of operations are: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction.

    hence in the first expression : 42 (17 – 15) / (3 + 1) – 5, the parenthesis (bracket is simplified first as follows:

    (17 - 15) = (2) ;  and (3 + 1) = (4) ;  hence the expression will be simplified as follows: 42 (2) / (4) - 5.

    Next, since there is no exponent in the expression, Multiplication follows:

    42 (2) = 42 × 2 = 84 ; hence he expression becomes: 84 / 4 - 5

    Next division follows : 84/4 = 21, therefore the expression becomes

    21 - 5.

    Finally, subtraction follows : 21 - 5 = 16

    b)  5 + 7 x 2 - 9;

    first, multiplication is done: 7 × 2 = 14, hence the expression becomes :

    5 + 14 - 9.

    Next in the order is addition : 5 + 14 = 19, hence, the expression becomes:

    19 - 9.

    Finally, subtraction follows: 19 - 9 = 10

    1. I would call quadrants i, ii, iii, iv as a, b, c, d

    2.Which type of variables are usually on the y-axis and represent output?
    they usually are the dependent variables, that is, they depend on the x value, such as velocity, price, income.

    3.Which type of variables are usually on the x-axis and represent input?
    those are the independent variables such as time, distance, price.

    4.Which type of slope is represented on a graph as a horizontal line?
    the slope of an horizontal line is zero.

    5.Find the slope of 2x + 4y = 12
    the general form of the line is:
    4y = - 2x + 12
    y = -(1/2)x + 3

    hence the slope is -1/2

    Si: 1s²2s²2p⁶3s²3p2

    Explanation:

    Other electron configuration summaries include ...

    Si:[Ne]3s²3p2; [Ne] = electron configuration of noble gas Neon (1s²2s²2p⁶)

    Si:[Ne]3s²2p₋₁¹p₀¹p₊₁⁰ <=> e⁻ configuration with orbital orientations

    Si:[Ne]3s(↑↓)3p₋₁(↑)p₀(↑) <=> Orbital Diagram
