7. Since all cells originated from a single-celled zygote, it means that they must contain the same DNA. If this is true,
how it is possible for there to be so many different types of
cells with different structures and functions?
A. Mutations in DNA during DNA replication prior to mitosis lead to different cell types.
B. During DNA replication and mitosis, sections of DNA not being used by the cell are cut
out and discarded.
C. Cells only use the genes in the DNA needed for specific cell type.

    dna fingerprinting is defined as a process that determines the dna characteristics of an individual. these dna characteristics are unique among individuals as their fingerprints, so it is known as dna fingerprinting.

    steps of dna fingerprinting includes extraction of dna from sample, amplification of dna, restriction digestion of amplified dna, and then analysis of dna by gel electrophoresis, respectively.

    thus, the next step performed by the scientist is 'to cut the amplified dna (obtained by polymerase chain reaction) by restriction enzymes that cleave the dna into fragments and their analysis.'
