During the late 1800s, the Chinese immigration rate decreased as a result of US government legislation. The Chinese Exclusion Act passed in 1882 prevented the immigration of Chinese citizens to the United States.

The good answer is: It decreased because of new legislation.

    Explanation:

In 1882, Congress passed the Chinese Exclusion Act. It suspended for 10 years the immigration of Chinese skilled and unskilled workers into the USA. Every Chinese person travelling in the United States had to carry a certificate telling his or her status. Cultural differences and ethnic discrimination were the reasons behind that move.

    A. decreased as a result of US government legislation.

    Explanation:

During the mid-1800s, Chinese immigration to the United States was reasonably high, mainly due to the Gold Rush in California. By the end of the 1800s, there were racist concerns about the number of Chinese people living in the United States. The government decided to pass the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882, which prohibited all immigration of Chinese laborers. This was the first law that prevented all members from a specific ethnic group from immigrating.

decreased as a result of US government legislation.

Throughout the 1800s, Chinese immigration had been high due to their role as labourers in the construction of the transcontinental railroad. They also worked in the mining industry. Chinese people were often abused and discriminated against. The opposition against Chinese immigrants reached a particularly high level towards the end of the century, and the Chinese Exclusion Act was passed in 1882. This prohibited immigration from China for the next ten years.
