    Let wx = hypotenuse

    (wx)^2 = (16)^2 + (12)^2

    (wx)^2 = 256 + 144

    (wx)^2 = 400

    sqrt{(wx)^2} = sqrt{400}

    wx = 20

    The answer is choice A.
