  2. In summary, the human body is made of 11 important organ systems, including the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, excretory, nervous and endocrine systems. They also include the immune, integumentary, skeletal, muscle and reproductive systems. The systems work together to maintain a functioning human body.

The lungs provide a place where oxygen can reach the blood and carbon dioxide can be removed from it. Some body systems share a common organ that performs more than one job.

    Arteries that are away from the heart are red in color, whereas, veins which are towards the heart are blue in color. Therefore, the cardiovascular system tells the mechanism of blood circulation around the human body.
