What nation helped North Korea in the Korean War?

Question:

What nation helped North Korea in the Korean War?

Answers

The Soviet Union and China

Explanation:

North Korea was under the "protection" of the Soviet Union after the end of World War II, while South Korea was under the "protection" of United States forces.

There was suppose to be an election uniting the two parts of the nation. The Russians refused to allow North Korea to participate in the election. This resulted in two separate governments. Yet the Russians claimed that all Korea should be under communistic control.

The United States pulled almost all of its forces from South Korea leaving the local elected government in charge. The Soviet Union supplied the North Koreans with modern weapons, tanks, moblie artillery, fighter jets, and AK 47's. The Soviet Union trained the North Korea's army and encouraged the invasion of the South.
During the war Russian pilots flew combat missions for the North.

The United States combine with other United Nation forces made a surprise amphibious landing behind the North Korean forces, cutting the North's army off from supplies and destroying the bulk of the North's forces.

The UN forces then marched North taking over all of what had been Communist North Korea. Then the Chinese army counter attacked in a surprise winter offensive, driving the UN forces back to the original dividing line between the North and the South.

The Soviet Union helped North Korea by arming the Nation and supplying training and pilots, China rescued North Korea by supplying massive combat troops and fighting for the North.
