Identify the type of conflict revealed in each statement.

She does not want to miss the interview, but the weather is making travel difficult.

In her frustration, she longs for a world that appreciates the intelligence of women.

I want to go play football with my friends, but my brother is making me help him with chores.

His stubbornness prevents him from compromising.

My computer crashed before I could save the essay I was typing.

In the first case, the character's enemy is the storm, as it makes him unable to reach the airport in time. Therefore, the conflict is one against nature. In the second case, the woman is angry at the treatment of women in the world. As this is a widespread practice, her conflict is against society. In the third case, the speaker is engaged in conflict with his parents, because they do not allow him to go to the movies. The conflict is one against others. Finally, the woman speaking struggles with her own selfishness, making the conflict one against her own self.
