his sin marks all human beings as needing the salvation brought about through Christ ... What does the story of Adam and Eve indicate about our understanding of sin? shows that ... How does Christian teaching counteract this tendency

It's an account telling  about what had happened in the past and how it effects mankind in modern times and explains why we have bad living conditions and our internal clock stopping when our bodies were made to live forever. Adam and Eve disobeyed, lost that hope for mankind, but God had sent Jesus, a perfect man to die for us thus covering over sin by paying the ransom for all of mankind. Making it possible for us to regain the hope of living forever in the near future.
