    d = √( (x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)² )

       = √( (14 - 6)² + (19 - 4)² )

       = √( 8² + 15² )

       = √( 64 + 225 )

       =  [tex]\sqrt{289}[/tex]

       = 17
