     In a chemical change, matter is neither created nor destroyed. A combination of two or more substances in which the basic identity of each substance is not changed.

    The identity does change because for example if you were to bend a piece of steel it would still be steel (Physical Change) But if you were to burn a piece of wood the wood would turn to ash (Physical Change)
