    The correct answer is activation.

Activation energy is the minimum energy required by the reactant species to start a chemical reaction.

Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by an object by virtue of its motion.

Potential energy is possessed by an object when it is a rest.

Nuclear energy is the energy released during the process of nuclear fission or nuclear fusion.

    ANSWER:

amount of energy available in a chemical system for a reaction to take place.

    EXPLANATION:

Activation Energy. The term Activation Energy was presented in 1889 by Svante Arrhenius, a Swedish researcher. It is characterized as the slightest conceivable measure of vitality (least) which is required to begin a response or the measure of vitality accessible in a substance framework for a response to take place

In a chemical reaction, energy of activation refers to the minimum energy required to activate the atoms or molecules of compounds in order to bring about the occurrence of chemical reaction. In simple terms, activation energy is the energy that a set of reactants required that will enable them to undergo chemical reaction. The unit of activation energy is Joule.

it would be the additional energy required for reactions to occur spontaneously.

I think the best answer from the choices listed above is option B. The energy of activation is the additional energy required for reactions to occur spontaneously. It is the energy required and available for a reaction to happen. Hope this answers the question.
